The documentary,”Hold My Hand”, follows Eliza Schaaf, a young woman with Down Syndrome, who was raised under the principle of inclusion. Schaaf was dropped from her ceramics class by Southern Oregon University. SOU sited she required excessive supervision and limited her classmates time for instruction. Schaaf denies this and her classmates signed a petition refuting this fact and asked that she be reinstated.

“Hold My Hand”,made by four students at Chapman University, Ruby Stocking, Bobby Moser, James Parker, and Virginia Thomasi, looks at the impact of being excluded from her class, but also covers the importance of inclusion for all members of society.

Schaaf’s website offers more details about the film and her battle with SOU.
