Developmental Screenings Covered Under The Affordable Care Act

Senior advisor to the President Valerie Jarrett and Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius  address the Affordable Care Act to a group of  parents, advocates and experts at an Autism Awareness Month Conference. The Affordable Care Act requires insurance plans cover screening and developmental assessments at no charge to the parents.

The Affordable Care Act Ends Lifetime Caps on Benefits

Additionally, insurers are no longer allowed to deny children with pre-existing conditions coverage, or set arbitrary  limits or lifetime caps on benefits. It is their hope, by working collaboratively with important partners, that the Affordable Care Act and the Combating Autism Act, will help foster greater understanding, support, and resources for individuals with autism, helping every individual actualize their full potential.
